A beautiful story from Porter's companion:
I was contacted by the SPCA in Barrie regarding Porter. Porter was about 1.5 years at that time. Porter was an abused animal according to staff by different owners. He has had two other names that I know of before I changed it to Porter. He seemed to like Porter and named him this because he was always waiting by the door for me with one of my socks.
Porter lived by himself in the wild for sometime and had an extensive case of mange. He was in Newmarket the first time and then found on HWY 400 at HWY 88 six months after by police, who then called the SPCA in Barrie. When I first saw Porter I knew he wanted to go for a walk / run. So that’s what I did. He seemed so happy and told me so in his bear hug way. We have been walking / running daily ever since. Porter, I found was very easy to train. He settled down and now has a quiet disposition. Porter is everyone’s dog. He just eats and sleeps at my place. He is loved by numerous people but especially his extended family at Resthaven in Aurora. Porter is as you know an active St. John's Ambulance Therapy dog. He is also the YRREB mascot. http://www.yrreb.com/index_files/WELCOMENREALTORS.html. He has brought a lot of joy to a number of people and has been a great companion.
